Has anyone heard of a gps tracking device for vehicles that has a satellite photo/ map image for tracking?
I saw one on a web site at www.autotrackit.com It looks really cool and practical. It says it can unlock your doors, disable your starter, alert you to alarm activation and boundary fencing. You can do all these things with your cell phone and/or on you computer.
I was wondering if it is worth getting? I have locked my keys in the car on occasion and I have teens and others that use my vehicles with and at times without permission. From what I’ve seen, it looks very promising.

No sure what you are trying to do? The unit that you saw will do all of that, plus there are many more covert units out there that do tracking. They have a sim card that transfers data to a database so that it can be viewed with a computer. Some store the data on the unit itself, but you must remove it from the car to get the data and usually replace batteries.

A device similar to the following: BUSHNELL ONIX200CR

will allow you to overlay satellite images and aerial photography instead of simply map images. As for integrating this into your car, I think you’re talking about different technology. The type of option you may be talking about will require an internet connection (likely through cell phone) to provide the data feed.
