I put a GPS tracking device on my wife's car and she found out and is mad now? What gives?
She was putting more miles on the vehicle than I allow her to. If there is to many miles on it when it comes ttime to sell it, the resale value will be a lot lower with all the extra miles.
It is a leased car and there is restrictions on the mileage..COME ON ALL YOU MAN HATERS out there..lighten up….

garbage in garbage out -so the answer is she loves your concern for her well being and the cars mileage is a side issue ( at work also )
Well if you told her why you put it in there you messed up.
You basically told her you don’t trust her and breeched the trust issue and need to regain that.
You should have told her you were worried about her well being, and maybe the car getting stolen. (white lies are sometimes ok, but can be killer if you have an alternate agenda)
Cars are made to be driven !! Period. Very few are financial investments.

don’t be so protective. she must of had a good reason why, she was going around and have a joy ride, she was doing chores. clam that you wanted to make sure that the car wouldn’t get stolen

With all the questions you are asking…someone must be having a boring day at work!!
I know that because I’m having a boring day at work and I’m answering all your questions!!!!

LMAO!!! Shouldn’t this post be in the "Family & Relationships" section? More miles than you allow her to? You the odometer Nazi? I hope your excuse is that it is a leased car with mileage restrictions.

You should have talked to her first. It sounds like a trust issue to me. "tracking" her is not going to stop putting miles on the car.
I think its more that she feels like your keeping tabs on her like some kind of prisoner.
Would you want her to know every little thing you do and watch over you like a hawk??
No, I didn’t think so.
Its a car man, and besides that vehicle resale today is a lost cause no matter what you say.None of them hold their value for what you spend on them in the time you have them.
Unless your going to actually believe your going to be able to keep the mileage of it under 30,000 miles in the time you own it.It isn’t going to gain you much no matter what.Anywhere between 65,000 and 85,000 miles there is only a $500.00 benefit for mileage on resale.

Isn’t that the point of a car? To DRIVE them?
Personally, I would be pissed if I had a tracking device on my car.
well if you bought her the car,,she should be able to drive it when and where she wants to,,you may be in the dog house for a little while on this one,,,good luck ,happy new years.

You sound
a. paranoid
b. cheap
c. controlling
what a catch!
be happy you have a wife and don’t push it. be nice.

Is the few extra hundred dollars you MIGHT get whenever it is you EVER decide to resell it worth it? No, it isnt. A car is not an investment, at least not your everyday car. With what you spent puting a GPS on it was what you may have gained in profits if you ever did resell it. Did you think about that?

Is there a problem w/ trust. So get her a car that she can drive around and around where ever she wants. I would be totally pissed if my husband put a GPS on my car, so you deserve it. You allowing her to drive the car…… sounds like you control her. You got problems buddy. Get help before you don’t have a wife to track!

I was a wife for 45 years, and not once did my husband complain nor ask me about the milage. And I love to drive. I drove from NO. Ca. to LA except the last hour over and into the valley. many times MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS. She is not your slave. yish

Did you install it for her safety concerns, or for you to keep track of her? Have you used it? If you’ve used it to find out where she is and what she’s doing, then she has a right to be mad. And what is this "putting more miles on the vehicle than I allow her to"? Are you her master, or her husband? It’s just a car, not an investment, so don’t worry about the mileage. Trust your wife, or divorce her….your choice.
did you put the device to track her wear about cause you don’t trust her or were you really just worried about the car’s milage? If you were spying on her/don’t trust her, then you probably have alot more to worry about than her running up the milage on the car. If thats not the case, you may want to make it clear to her why you care so much about it. Cause you probably would want her GPSing you with out explaining her self.
I guess it’s not really your wife’s car is it?
I would be upset if I were here as well due to the feeling of lack of trust. Putting a GPS tracking device on my car would suggest to me that my husband thinks I’m doing something I’m not supposed to be. Maybe that is why she is upset.
She probably feels controlled and she’s probably right. ("than I allow her to.", GPS) What you did was sneaky. How would you like it if she did that to you? Your words and actions indicate that you should take a hard look at how you are treating her. You may need help.
If I was her you would have gotten divorce papers for Christmas.
Well, from a technical standpoint, what do you care about resale on a lease car? Milage penalties, yes, but it’s not your car to sell, so who cares about re-sale?
My biggest question is why do you allow her to drive? Isn’t she supposed to be barefoot at home cooking and cleaning? If you keep her locked up at home, you won’t have any milage penalties at all, plus your house will be spotless. And think of the money you’d save on buying her shoes, too!
If it’s a leased vehicle, why would you be worried about resale value? Isn’t that the whole point of leasing… so you don’t have to worry about selling it yourself?
I know, I know…. you’re lying and you don’t even have a wife.
