Is it illegal to remove a tracking device from my car?
I’m late on my car payment and the loan company has shut my car off and it will be up for repo soon. The problem is I need the car to get to work so I’ll have the money to make the payment. I’ve already talked to the loan company and they won’t let me pay it late. So if I were to take the device off of my car, what kind of repercussions should I expect?

I don’t think it is illegal to remove the tracker from your car. However, I can bet you a dollar that somewhere in your lease or finance contract that there is a section that says it must remain or the contract is void and you will pay off the contract immediately or give up the car anyhow.
Let’s face it. They’ve gotcha covered. You can’t wiggle out. Get your personal belongings out of the car and kiss it good bye.

I believe you can get arrested/heavily fined for that, because your avoiding your payments or something. My suggestion, don’t do it, just raise the money or give it up.

They would still have the right to repo it, even with the payment, as you would have defaulted. Don’t forget the possible charges for vandalism.
